your burning questions
Here are the answers to our most commonly asked questions. To see more, head on over to our FAQs page.
What type of vessel can I use?
We recommend fire-safe containers, but you can get creative with other options too, just make sure they're spacious enough. The key is to keep the melt pool away from the edges and ensure your vessel stays cool while burning. Aim for at least 10 cm in width at the narrowest point, but always test it out to make sure it stays chill when lit.
For the best burn, keep at least 5 cm of sand wax around each wick (one wick per 10 cm wide container!) and leave at least 2.5 cm between the bottom of the wick and the base of your vessel.
How strong is the scent?
Our scents have a soft yet noticeable presence, enough to fill your space with a beautiful aroma, but never overpowering. Even when you're using our tubes to create a large centerpiece or lighting up multiple candles, the scent stays balanced and easy on the senses, giving you all the ambiance without being too much.
If you are looking for a stronger scent, we recommend using our tubes to create a large candle with multiple wicks, or fill multiple candles.
Where can I find my wicks?
Your wicks can be found neatly tucked away on the inside of your sand wax tube. Sometimes they can get buried during transit but don't fret, they're just playing a game of hide and seek.
Do you have to use a new wick every time?
Nope, you can relight the same wick multiple times and burn it as long as it lasts. That said, we give you plenty of wicks with our products so you could refresh your candle as often as you'd like to make it look new again.
You can also cut the wick and re-use the part that hasn't been used yet, or flip the wick to bury the melt pool for zero waste while still making your candle look brand new.
How long does the wax last?
The longitivity of our sand wax depends on how you use it. Whether you’re relighting the same wick or switching it up, using one wick or multiple, and how long you let it burn before refreshing, all these choices will impact how long your candle lasts.
On the bright side, our sand wax burns slower than traditional candles, giving you up to 40 hours burn time for our 220g Candle and a massive 130 hours burn time for our 650g Tubes.
Can the sand wax float?
It sure does! We recommend pouring at least a 2" height of sand wax on top of the water and making sure the bottom of the wick is not touching the water.
You can even add decorations to the water. To do this, add any decorations you'd like into a clear vessel, fill it with water until the object is submerged, and then pour our sand wax on top.
